Covered California – Get Covered Enrollment Center
On Saturday, Dec. 19 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., the Pasadena NAACP Branch will launch a Covered California “Get Covered Enrollment Center” at their branch offices in Pasadena. The opening of this Get Covered Enrollment Center comes as COVID-19 cases surge in California, and African Americans and other people of color are disproportionately impacted by the virus with higher infection rates, hospital admissions, and deaths.
The launch of this Get Covered Enrollment Center will not only provide enrollment information for Covered California and Medi-Cal health plans, but also include FREE drive-through flu shot vaccinations, food giveaways, and mask giveaways – while supplies last. The Pasadena NAACP Branch is located at 595 Lincoln Ave. in Pasadena, and all activities on Dec. 19 will take place in the branch parking lot.
The Pasadena NAACP Branch’s Get Covered Enrollment Center will operate virtually on the weekends through Covered California’s Jan. 31 open-enrollment deadline. More NAACP branches in Southern California and beyond also are expected to open a Get Covered Enrollment Center in the coming weeks. Covered California recently announced it has extended the enrollment deadline to Dec. 30 to have health coverage start on Jan. 1.
